What is the difference between an urgent care clinic and an emergency hospital?
Emergency hospitals are very different from urgent care clinics. Emergency hospitals offer a number of advantages and services that an urgent care clinic simply cannot. Services offered by an emergency hospital include:
- Open 24 hours a day
- Full range of radiology services, including X-ray, CT, Ultrasound, etc.
- Radiologist immediately available to read the images and provide reports.
- Laboratory services necessary to diagnose emergent conditions.
- Laboratory and radiology test results immediately available to the treating physician.
- All patients will be seen by a Board Certified physician and not just a physician assistant.
- Always has a Registered Nurse on premises.
- Should any patient’s condition require hospital admission, emergency rooms have transfer agreements with hospitals and can directly be admitted to a major hospital.
What types of ailments/injuries do we treat?
A: Our highly qualified and experienced emergency medical team is capable of diagnosing and providing treatment for virtually any illness or injury. We also offer onsite lab services, X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasounds. Please visit our Services page to view a comprehensive list of the services we provide so you can learn what to expect.
Do we treat infants, toddlers and children?
A: Absolutely! Our compassionate physicians and medical professionals have extensive training in emergency pediatric medicine, so you can rest assured we have the requisite knowledge and experience to provide you and your child with highly personalized care for virtually any illness or injury requiring emergency treatment. In addition, our calm, welcoming facility includes rooms specifically designed for pediatric care, which will allow you and your child to experience an unprecedented level of comfort and ease that is sure to be unlike any other emergency medical visit you’ve experienced.
How is PERH different from a regular hospital emergency room or a family doctor’s office?
A: Patients ER & Hospital is different because our physicians and staff can provide an array of services for our patients. We can provide emergency medicine around the clock, conducting tests and scans on-site. We also have an observation unit, and can also keep you as an inpatient in our hospital.
We work diligently to ensure your visit is as hassle and stress-free as possible, and will even follow up with your primary care physician to make sure he/she is up-to-speed on your current condition.
What if I experience troubles with my insurance company?
A: Texas state law requires insurance carriers to reimburse all patients for emergency room visits, regardless of whether the emergency room is “in-network” or “out-of-network.” We are here to help you from treatment to billing. That being said, if you are experiencing difficulties in dealing with your insurance company, or if your insurance company refuses payment for your emergency medical visit, please call us at 281-576-0555, and we will work with them to ensure their insurance company handles the claim appropriately. You can also file a grievance report with the Texas Department of Insurance.
What if I do not have insurance?
A: At Patients ER & Hospital, we proudly offer competitive cash prices and will work with you one-on-one to determine if you’re eligible to receive discounted rates through one of the many medical discount programs with which we are proudly affiliated. We will also gladly work with you to arrange a payment plan that fits your needs and budget.
When am I expected to pay for treatment?
A: Unless an alternative payment plan/agreement has been made, all payments are expected at the time of your treatment. We accept all major credit cards and cash. We work with each patient on an individual basis as their care is our number one priority. If you have any questions regarding payment or treatment, please call us at 281-576-0555 prior to visiting our facility.
What if I have questions regarding my bill before or after treatment?
A: We understand that medical billing can often be a confusing, complicated and drawn-out process, which is why we strive to be as open and transparent with all of our billing processes and protocols as possible. We are available to answer any billing-related questions 24/7 and assure you that you will never be faced with hidden costs or fees thanks to our up-front billing methods. Please call us at (281) 576-0555 and we will be happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
Is there typically a long wait to see a medical professional?
A: Not at all! Unlike traditional hospital emergency rooms that may have hour-long wait times, the medical professionals at Patients ER & Hospital are typically able to examine patients within minutes of your arrival.
What happens if I need to stay in or be transferred to a hospital?
A: Should you need continued in-hospital treatment, we have a transfer protocol arranged with area hospitals, including a communication link between physicians to expedite your care. We have an ambulance available to transport you to the hospital of your choice, and in most cases, to an inpatient bed.
What happens if my condition requires additional treatment, surgery or other potentially unforeseeable care?
A: Should your illness or injury require an in-depth procedure or form of treatment that can only be offered in a traditional hospital setting, you can rest assured we’ll take care of everything to ensure your transition is as fast and simple as possible.
